Lego tweaking

Added a few Lego details to the apartment building including a gray drain pipe running up the side of the building, all in an attempt to add texture and interest.

Minus detail.

Maybe there should be another gray drain pipe at the RHS to give symmetry.

Collected some paperwork this afternoon so for the first time in months went by the cycle path along the Forth and Clyde Canal.

Sunny afternoon.

Mosaic backdrops

Every now and again I ponder the quality of the basically black and white on orange silhouette that forms the existing backdrop to my Parisian diorama.

And, now that I look at it afresh, it seems pretty good! Needs some extending leftwards, but that's it.

But earlier today attending midday Mass at St Simon's, Partick, Glasgow, my eye rested, as it always does when at St Simon's, on a mosaic representation of a Polish city-scape which forms the backdrop for a little prayer corner in the church - a church frequented by Glasgow's Polish community.

And I wondered if I shouldn't construct a similar backdrop for my layout ie one made from mosaic but depicting French city apartments and the Eiffel Tower.

But, on looking again at the existing backdrop, maybe I won't.

Drumming practice update:

Continued practising the new left hand grip and shifting reliance for producing drum stick strokes away from just wrist movements to arm movements too.

Found this to be quite a boring and tense practice routine, so carried it out to track after track of the electronic band "Factory Floor" - much more enjoyable. Probably, 45 minutes in total.

Stained glass windows at St Simon's, Partick.

I don't see this window as often as the other two because of where I usually sit. Same crude but powerful style as them but in completely different colours. Once again, it is St Simon aka Peter who is depicted.

The Ruts

Intend installing illuminated ie back-lit, shop windows on the ground floor of the yellow Lego apartment block.

First step was to cut card rectangles to size as templates for something more transparent, maybe acetate or semi-opaque eg tracing paper.

Definitely my favourite band from the punk epoch - The Ruts

Amazing album cover.
And "Something that I Said" was a great track.

And the first thing I did was to open it up and stuff it full of bubble wrap, an old checked shirt and a T-shirt.

Miscellany:

I'm a very lucky person.

I spent the whole afternoon sailing up and down the Clyde Estuary as a guest of my Great-niece, Mia and her brother Jack on the yacht, Able-2-Sail.

Lovely weather, surrounded by lovely company, and when the engines are turned off and the sail hoisted, almost a spiritual experience.

Based at Inverkip Marina
The yacht itself.

Quite an interior
