Backdrops

The current state of the backdrop pleases me - it's almost there.

But I saw this feature on interior design where you can buy an illustrated layer of film that can be stuck on top of a window giving one the impression that while living in Glasgow one is looking out over Paris.

Note: Eiffel Tower holds a less significant place.

First real progress on backdrop.

The visual effect of the layout depresses me - it's all too visually disparate.

Perhaps the buildings in the backdrop are too white.

So I brushed a watercolour wash of gray across them.

At first the paint wouldn't adhere as if the paper of the backdrop had an oily surface. Then I remembered that soap can bind water and oil together.

And that worked.

That's one hec of a lot better.

Backdrop tweakings

Explored the possibility of a different coloured backdrop.

I wondered if the black and white sketches of the backdrop were unsymapthetic to the buildings standing in front of them.

So I covered them with buff coloured envelopes to see what the general effect would be.

Actually, I prefer the way things were!!!
