Oleron to St Georges (near Royan)

Left the Albatros Hotel, St Trojan Les Bains, behind us:

Drumming practice update:

Before dinner last night, I wandered down the shore to the right of the hotel looking for a shady spot to practise on my drum pad ie the pad one straps to one's thigh.

Even at 6 o'clock, the sun was merciless and very high in the sky, but I did find some large rocks to sit on with partial shade.

Very difficult to take a photograph of oneself in this situation.

Drummed away for a good 35 minutes.

After a 90 minute southward drive this morning, arrived at our cabin at the campsite in St Georges - a couple of miles south of Royan.

Last year there were two female receptionists at this site: good cop/bad cop.

Likewise this year - same positions behind the counter. There was a short queue for both of them and apprehension was building inside my breast; who would I get?

Joy of joys, Good cop! (A couple of metres to my right, I could hear bad cop growling under her breath. She had smelled blood but had been thwarted - this time. She knows very well that we're here for 6 days so there is plenty of time for her to get her prey.)

Our cabin for next 6 days.
