Used Plastic Padding to fix the brackets to the back of the ceramic facade. |
Rigmarole to ensure brackets are at 90 degrees. |
After 10 minutes the Chemical Metal had set hard (actually, probably nearer 2 minutes!!)
Screwed down the brackets. |

Last night's dinner:
Forgot to take photograph but it was homemade Spaghetti Bolognaise.
A friend of mine has a widowed mother who is a bit of a "nippy sweetie".
The definition from an Internet dictionary of "nippy sweetie" is as follows:
"In the Glasgow area, an irritable sharp-tongued person."
Anyway, whenever she sees a sign in a cafe or a shop advertising "Homemade soup", she asks the assistant to tell her whose home it was made in.

Currently reading:
There is a really vivid description of driving along a Californian boulevard late evening to a beach and diving into the waves and breakers. The sheer sensuality of the writing reminds me of the atmosphere of heat that Albert Camus conjures up in his books set on the North African coast.
Actually, my mother introduced me to this novel of Camus - it was compulsory reading for her Teaching Diploma. I'd be surprised if Camus was still considered to be essential reading for prospective school teachers.
I've still got her version:
And when I think of it, my mother was the polar opposite of a "nippy sweetie".

Miscellany:
Got bike back from the repairers, took it out for a spin and the chain came off.
After my hand was cleaned. |
My hands were totally black with oil off the chain and I couldn't touch anything, open my bag to get a towel, or even grab the bike to turn it the right way up again for fear of spreading the mess.
Then, a very Good Samaritan in the form of a Municipal Roads Maintenance worker saw my plight, and ran over the road with a length of paper towel for me to clean my hands. Amazing.
There are a lot of good people around whether it be family or people in the street you have never met before.
