These Chimneys Are Simply Not Working

These Chimneys Are Simply Not Working

Have a look at these photos.

Painted one in gray.
Will have to go back to the drawing board - which is a depressing nuisance.

Currently listening to:

The music of Taize.

I adore/like/am comforted by/feel in tune with/often play the chants of Taize.

Taize is an ecumenical community in France.

See red place name.
It attracts tens of thousands of devotees every year to its festivals/events.

But for me, and millions of others, Taize's importance lies in the beautiful chants it has produced - set to equally beautiful melodies.

Here's one

O Lord, hear my prayer,
O Lord, hear my prayer.
When I call, answer me.
O Lord, hear my prayer,
O Lord, hear my prayer.
Come and listen to me.

Here's another - in BLOCK CAPITALS

JESUS REMEMBER ME, WHEN YOU COME INTO YOUR KINGDOM
JESUS REMEMBER ME, WHEN YOU COME INTO YOUR KINGDOM
JESUS REMEMBER ME, WHEN YOU COME INTO YOUR KINGDOM
JESUS REMEMBER ME, WHEN YOU COME INTO YOUR KINGDOM

JESUS REMEMBER ME, WHEN YOU COME INTO YOUR KINGDOM
JESUS REMEMBER ME, WHEN YOU COME INTO YOUR KINGDOM

Taize hymns are simple, repetitive but meaningful chants set to beautiful melodies.

Eight years ago, its then spiritual leader, Brother Roger, was standing in front of the crowd when a mad Romanian woman walked up to him and stabbed him to death.

Miscellany:

Cycled through the Clyde Tunnel Cycle Path this morning - very claustrophobic and very long. Was accompanied by lots of strange metallic clunking sounds from hidden machinery.

Came back along the south side of the Clyde and then crossed by bridge.

Religion:

Several years ago we flew to Budapest and then to Northern Greece. Whilst in Budapest, we sailed up the Danube to the little commune of St Andrew's where I bought this mass produced Icon from a Serbian Orthodox Church.

I still pray to it.
