HO Scale Scenery - slight disappointment

Placed the backdrop behind the model buildings.

Obviously, there are more model buildings to be put in position and the churches are to be re-positioned but I'm not entirely convinced by the total effect.

First reaction is that the Eiffel Tower and the buildings on the right hand side of the tower look OK but the buildings to the left may have to be re-painted.

Anyway, I can let the whole thing lie until I return from France.

Books I'm Taking on Holiday:

Unconditional Surrender by Evelyn Waugh. If all else fails, I know that this will be a success; after all, I've read it before, always with pleasure, on at least 5 occasions.

Vanished Years: Rupert Everett's Autobiography. This is supposed to be very good,  but that is no guarantee that I will like it.

2Stoned by Andrew Loog Oldham. I like recollections from the 60s and Oldham was the manager of the Rolling Stones so he "was there".

Cider with Roadies by Stuart Maconie. A memoir by this music/radio journalist who grew up in the 60s/70s.

From Beirut to Jerusalem by Thomas Friedman. Reflections on the impossible situation that is the Middle East.

Nausea by Jean Paul Sartre: A philosophical novel.

Two commentaries on Nausea.

Two introductions to Sartre's thoughts in general.
