Catenary illusions.

The reasoning behind drawing these patterns between the tracks is to convey the illusion of the mechanical complexity that one sees in the vicinity of a busy station. That complexity is primarily linear in form.

Take a look at these two photographs that I took from the train window when travelling between Poitiers and Paris recently. The overall impression is one of linear complexity caused by the catenary system - catenary being overhead wiring. Once I have drawn in the above pattern between all of the tracks, an illusion of this catenary complexity will, I hope, emerge as one looks at the layout.

Scallops and samphire - both readily available in local supermarket.

Hot Chip:

Really looking forward to seeing Hot Chip in Glasgow on Friday night.

But should I then travel through to Perth the next day to see Paul Lewis play Schubert?
