A depressingly low turnout for a Vigil Mass. In previous years the equivalent service has had attendances in the hundreds. Last night there were maybe 30 congregants.
Felt very low throughout the service but, inevitably and fortunately, my spirits lifted as communion approached and was consumated.

Last night's dinner:
2 small whole bream with avocado in a tomato sauce, prepared in the cabin and consumed on the veranda.

Classical music:
Much as I love all forms of popular music, one characteristic that I suspect only classical music has is that one can listen to the same work over and over and over again and far from getting sick of it, one actually enjoys it more on each listening. And, associated with this characteristic is the appetite that I have for hearing the same piece played by different artists or by different conductors.
Hence my excitement yesterday at listening to Rubinstein's playing of Chopin's nocturnes after several days of listening to Daniel Barenboim.

Arcachon:
Today we have moved on to Arcachon for a few days. We stopped off at the Dune du Pyla on the way.
