SNCF Society

A society that is well worthwhile joining is the SNCF Society. It has a French group of members but primarily it's a UK group of enthusiasts who promote anything connected with French railways: models; excursions to France; an archive of photographs of French rolling stock/railway buildings etc.

They have their own excellent quarterly magazine which contains articles submitted by members about visits to sites of interest re French railways - from what is happening now to old disused branch lines - always accompanied by  photographs that one could use as an inspiration for a model layout.

More CDs that have stood the test of time.

If one can ignore the preposterous, rude and silly lyrics, one is left with some great rhythms and some surprisingly forceful and  melodic music - almost orchestral.
